The dune village of Schoorl is known for having the highest dunes in the Netherlands. The Schoorl Dunes have an extensive network of walking routes. But there are also places such as Jan Bos's tuintje and het Zandgat where you can stray from the paths. The highest dune is no less than 55.5 metres high. When you climb this dune, you will have a beautiful view of the sea and polder. But Petten, where De Watersnip is located, also has a lot to offer. You can walk to the extensive beach of Petten in fifteen minutes. There you can enjoy water sports, visit terraces, build sandcastles and much more. And if you want to seek out the hustle and bustle, the artists' village of Bergen and the cheese town of Alkmaar are well worth a visit.

Certainly, our campsite is exceptionally child-friendly. Children can enjoy themselves in the indoor play paradise, where they can climb, scramble and slide to their hearts' content. Our enthusiastic entertainment team also organises a varied programme during the high season. And, of course, the outdoor swimming pool with paddling pool provides hours of water fun.
Is De Watersnip close to the beach?
Yes, De Watersnip is only 1 km from the beach, which is about a 15-minute walk. Here you can not only enjoy the beautiful coastline, but also go swimming, sunbathing, build sandcastles and practise various water sports.
